Live video streaming

ServersThe FIVE network is a live video streaming system which consists of the Video Server Module and the Flash Client Module.

The Video Server Module

This module receives the encoded feed and distributes it to the connected clients. In conjunction with the Flash Client Module, it has a built-in failover mechanism and automatic bandwidth detection in the event of connection issue between the Flash Client and Video Server. The automatic bandwidth detection mechanism automatically detects the FPS received by the Flash client to determine the best location from which to retrieve the video stream.

The Flash Video Client Module

This module, contained within the Flash Client Application, determines the current FPS for the video feed retrieved by working in conjunction with the Video Server Module. If the feed is below the minimum quality FPS then the client will automatically check the pre-defined Video Server to retrieve the feed from the best possible location. The Flash Video Client Module also has built-in automatic connection to the next pre-defined Video Servers in the event of video connection failure with the primary Video Server.

Key features

  • Automatic network detection to ensure the client retrieves the best quality video feed from the right server
  • Automatic video server connection for continuous video connection in the event of a connection issue with the primary Video Server
  • Automatic re-stream to next available Video Server in the event of the primary server failure.
